Maternity Set #2

July 29, 2011 2 comments

My dear friend Courtney is just learning how to use her DSLR and I told her that I would love to play guinea pig for her – for maternity and newborn shots 🙂

This would allow her to practice, me to teach a little (what little I do know), as well as collaborate on some ideas that we both had!!! Plus, there is one additional picture that I took on my own 🙂

Maternity Shots

July 27, 2011 3 comments

Well, I had some maternity shots taken at our home last week since I’m still on bedrest.

Our wonderful friend, Jen Shu, from Pink Light by Rarmai, was so kind to come out and take pictures!

Here is a selection from our maternity shoot, plus some pictures of our little family 🙂

36 Weeks

July 25, 2011 Leave a comment

Well, we made it to 36 weeks.

The day before that mark (Saturday), I was BACK in the hospital, as I was having contractions every 6-8 minutes.

They gave me more Terbutaline and fluids and discharged me, even though my contractions hadn’t completely ceased.

Now, I’ve been dealing with some severe nerve pain in my lower back that radiates up my spine! Ugh.

I have also moved from looseto strict bedrest for the duration.  So now we wonder if they will take her early or continue to postpone until her due date.

Jonathan is still being a wonderful stronghold for me and a trooper in having to be the married single dad.

I love being pregnant, but with the constant contractions and now the pain in my back, I’m ready for Amelia to be here!

20 Months Old

Our sweet boy turned 20 months old!

I can’t believe that we are closer to 2 than to 1 anymore!

He has grown so much and it is amazing to watch the development between one and two years old!

He’s talking a lot more – some understandable, some not quite so much.

He is still rockin’ out the sign language, which has been so helpful!

His fine motor skills are quite in-tune, being able to stack blocks 7 and 8 high before they fall.

He is becoming particular on the shoes he wears – LOL, and will tell us no if he doesn’t want to wear them.

He is recognizing when he’s dirtied his diapers.

He is just such a sweet and amazing boy!

And here are some pics of our little man:

Update – 34 Week OB Appointment

July 14, 2011 Leave a comment

When I first arrived, it was a little after 8 – my appointment being at 8:15 a.m.

I learned that my doctor was not only on vacation, but so was the nurse practitioner! Ugh!

Thankfully, with not too much wait time, I was able to see one of the partners before any of her other patients! Yeah!

Telling her about the contractions on Monday being 2-4 minutes apart and the pain that I had yesterday where I couldn’t even walk, she checked me….still dilated to a one.  With that said, though, she has dropped more into the birth canal, which was causing that pain!

Halfway into the 34th week, she forewent giving me the fetal fibronectin test again.  She told me that, at this point, if I were to go into labor, they would just deliver the baby.  So…at this point, we are simply in a waiting game for Amelia to make her grand entrance into this world!

Jonathan is planning on working on the baby’s room this weekend, painting and moving the new furniture in.

I have taken the daunting task of washing all of her clothes.  We are SO GOOD on clothes, its not even funny!  I think we have enough to get her into, if not through, the winter months!

I’ll post soon with pics of the nursery for all of the curious minds out there!

34 Weeks and Counting

July 13, 2011 Leave a comment

As of Sunday, we crossed the 34 week mark and each day is a better day that Amelia stays inside!

I know I’ve been short on blogging recently, but long story short, we have been in the hospital three times in the last three weeks for contractions.

After this last go-round, they finally sent me home with some prescription meds to stop contractions as need.

I am also on bedrest, so that means that I stay home every day – for the most part – while Noah has started daycare / preschool

Needless to say, I still have contractions everyday – in varying degrees.

We did go ahead and get a round of steroid shots, as well, to stimulate her lung function, just in case she does decide to come a bit early. My guess….before August….but who knows!

Here is my plump belly at 34 weeks measuring in at 41″ around:

Just keep us in your prayers – for mine and Amelia’s health and Jonathan’s sanity – while we finish out this pregnancy and wait for our little girl to arrive!
